That Time I Went To Europe

I recognize that it’s mid-June and I’m about to post vacation photos from Nov. 2012 but I needed half-a-year to recover from that trip. It. Was. So. Fun. We spent a few glorious days in Paris eating food that I’m still craving and drinking more wine than I do in California (a lot). Next we took a train to Reims where my BFF got married in the most gorgeous chateau wearing not one, but two insane dresses (Lhuillier and Lanvin). We stayed up way too late each night drinking more champagne than I do in California (a lot). By the time the wedding was over, my immune system was shot. Plus it was winter and pretty cold and rainy, but when you’re in a land that literally looks like a fairytale nothing can get you down.

We spent the second half of our trip in Spain, specifically Barcelona and San Sebastian. Gaudi stole my heart and San Sebastian is quite possibly my favorite place ever. Last time I was in Europe, we were broke college students. This time, the Husband and I ate and drank like royalty and San Sebastian was the ideal place to do it. Before heading back to Paris to fly home, we took a day trip to Biarritz, a small beach town on the border of France and Spain. The town was picturesque.  In fact, all of Europe is picturesque, which made taking pictures really easy. See proof below.

Most photos by me, unless they’re of me, in which case The Husband took them. See more here.

Paris je t’aime

I’m back and fuzzy in the brain! Our trip was magical. Being in Paris with your best friends when you’re not starving college students really is an incredible experience. Now I don’t want to take a vacation without my friends in tow. The Husband is thrilled about that.

I took an obscene amount of photos that I haven’t sifted through yet, so for now here are some iPhone shots of our days in Paris!

Au Revoir and Adios

That’s goodbye in French and Spanish because I’m going to France and Spain remember? Follow me on Instagram if you want to watch me drink a lot of wine.

España

So in addition to our trip to France for the wedding in November, we’ve decided to also head to Spain since we’ll already be in that area. When in Europe right? We’re in the process of making plans and I need your advice loyal readers. Barcelona is most definitely on the list. I really want to go to San Sebastian, but the more I think about it, the more all the travel back and forth between countries and cities seems frantic. What do you think? Should we stay in Barcelona the entire week or is it worth visiting another city?

If we do visit another city, our requirements are as follows: It has to be close to Barcelona as we don’t have time to gallivant all over Spain. And there must be direct transportation back to Paris, which is where we eventually depart.

Tell me what to do.

I’m Back

I went to Toronto without my camera. Shame on me. But I did Instagram some shit, namely photos of the CN Tower, Niagara Falls, and our clubbing escapades. Did you know that the legal drinking age in Canada is 19? I think my clubbing days in Canada are over you guys.

I also spent quality time with my family and developed a case of severe baby fever, which I need to get rid of immediately as I’m traveling to the champagne region of France in a few months and plan on drinking excessively. Also, I missed the Husband a ridiculous amount (he didn’t come with me) and I determined that spending a few days apart is good for romance.

I’m going to spend the remainder of the week not eating and doing some form of extreme exercise. Happy Hump Day!
